Future Champions
A pilot talent development programme, providing an environment that assists talented, emerging athletes. This will enable them to thrive and learn in their home area, while working towards achieving their full potential.
Funding has been secured for this ASI initiative in both Southland and Canterbury to identify and assist young athletes with the potential to become 'carded athlete' and compete at the highest level. In both provinces young athletes will have access to expertise and performance aids, currently only available to carded athletes through the NZAS system.
Each province has each established their own academy, to match both their specific needs and work with local sporting organisations.
