Vision
The Academy South Island offers a world class service to carded athletes from all sports, through its Dunedin-based Headquarters, its resources centres in Christchurch and Invercargill, its mobile unit, and its innovative information and communication technology. There is a culture of excellence at the Academy. Athletes and coaches are welcomed into a challenging but user friendly environment where each feels they are highly valued and respected, and where available services are tailored to meet each individuals needs.
The Academy exists in a community passionate about sport and is staffed by internationally recognised experts who take professional pride in the services they provide.

Our Aims
Our aim is to add value and offer 'stress free' solutions to the challenges facing world-class and developing athletes and coaches. Elite athletes will receive individual attention from world class scientists, practitioners, and experienced 'mentors' who understand the pressures facing elite athletes. Communications and distance teaching facilities offer on-going support and education for athletes and coaches. The Academy maintains relationships with the High Performance Directors working for the NZ Academy of Sport : Head Office, National Sports Organisations, and other Academy centres in Wellington and Auckland, and international centres in Australia and North America. This ensures an integrated approach to achieving international standards and a sporting excellence in New Zealand.
